I usually hate the question, “What do you do?” because it reduces something nuanced and deeply personal—my career, values, and how I choose to spend my time—into a soundbite. For me, my work blends technical acumen with leadership, mentorship, and a strong ethical compass, it’s not an easy thing to summarize in a sentence or two. That question often assumes people can be easily categorized, and that their job title tells you who they are. To me that feels reductive.
It also hits a nerve because my work is not just what I do—it’s why I do it. I try to lead teams through complex challenges, balance empathy with technical rigor, and build systems that affect real lives. That doesn’t fit neatly into casual small talk. And as someone who values depth, intention, and authenticity, I generally prefer conversations that get to the heart of why things matter, not just what label fits on a business card.
Sure that sound good, but what do you actually do?
I’m a forward-thinking Infrastructure Director and DevOps/Cloud Architect with a passion for building resilient systems—and resilient teams. Over the course of my career, I’ve worked with organizations ranging from early-stage startups to Fortune 500 megacorps, helping them scale intelligently, transition smoothly through change, and build technical foundations that last. I specialize in designing and implementing cloud-native architectures across AWS, GCP, Azure, and OCI, while also overseeing complex enterprise IT ecosystems and leading innovation in M&A processes. My focus has always been on aligning technical strategy with real-world needs from the outset, ensuring that what we build serves people—not the other way around.
So to me, the work is about more than systems and platforms. It’s about people. I believe that high-performing teams are built on trust, transparency, and a shared sense of purpose. I strive to lead with integrity and to foster an environment where individuals feel empowered, supported, and inspired to push past their perceived limits. Whether it’s establishing best practices, mentoring engineers, or navigating organizational transformation, I aim to bring a steady hand and a clear vision—always with the aim of creating sustainable success for both the business and the people behind it.
I currently lead the infrastructure group at SimplePractice, a mission-driven organization dedicated to empowering therapists across the country through a robust and intuitive practice management platform. In this role, I oversee the DevOps, DBA, and Release Engineering teams, with full operational control of our cloud architecture and infrastructure strategy. My focus is on building scalable, secure, and resilient systems that not only support the needs of our engineering teams but also ensure that the practitioners relying on our platform can serve their clients without friction or disruption. From day-to-day operations to long-term architectural planning, I work to ensure that our infrastructure is aligned with both business goals and user impact.
